51 Wine Wednesday: Chardonnay

Chardonnay wines can be found around the world. They are described as "lean, crisply mineral wines" (Chablis, France) or "oak with tropical fruit flavors" (New World vines). The climate also affects the body, color, and flavors. Cooler climate chardonnays lean towards medium/light body with "flavors of green plum, apple, and pear." In warmer locations, "flavors become more citrus, peach, and melon," while in very warm locations "more fig and tropical fruit notes such as banana and mango come out." (Thanks,!). Chardonnay is also important to sparkling wines, but you'll learn more about those coming up for another tasting, soon!

Regardless the region, chardonnay's are vast and diverse! Come find your new favorite version!
